Sing with VOICES this Season!

No solo required! Come to share your voice and your interest in good choral music!

Auditions for VOICES' 2011-2012 Concert Season will take place from 3pm to 7pm on September 12 at Music Together, 225 Pennington-Hopewell Rd (Rte 654), Hopewell, NJ 0852. Singers interested in joining VOICES in September should contact the audition coordinator, Sandy Duffy, at 609-799-2211, or write to auditions@VOICESChorale.org to set up an appointment, or to make arrangements for another audition date. The fifteen minute auditions are informal and conducted in a friendly atmosphere. Singers will be asked to sing a familiar song, do some vocal exercises, and sight read. A prepared solo is not necessary, but is an option. If you are asked to join VOICES, expect to stay for the rehearsal beginning at 7:30pm at the same location.

VOICES ChoraleVOICES Chorale, founded in 1992, provides outstanding performance opportunities at an unusually high artistic level for community singers. Its repertoire ranges from Renaissance to contemporary, from spirituals and show music to the sacred and classic. In addition to singing the world's greatest choral music, VOICES offers singers the opportunity to develop an understanding of vocal technique, music history, and performance style.

The chorus draws primarily from Bucks County and Mercer County. Most singers are adults, though dedicated high school students are welcome.

VOICES offers two unique outreach programs: interactive concerts at assisted living facilities and an Annual Song Writing Contest for Children ages 5-12. In addition, solo, duet, and ensemble opportunities are possible at the outreach concerts and in VOICES' Fall and Spring Cabarets!

Weekly rehearsals take place on Mondays from 7:30 - 9:45 pm at Music Together Community Room, 225 Pennington-Hopewell Rd (Rte 654), Hopewell, NJ 08525. They will resume on September 12, 2011.

YOUNG COMPOSERS CONCERT!
Winners of 22nd VOICES Young Composers Competition

Since 1987, the VOICES Music Composition Contest for Children has provided nearly 400 young composers with the impetus to write music. The composition program also provides song-writing workshops led by Lyn Ransom and other VOICES members for local children, and opportunities for classroom and piano teachers to make music theory concrete and to stimulate creative thinking. All children ages 5 through 12 who enjoy music are encouraged to attend and participate. For information and an entry form, click here!

All entries were reviewed by an established composer and several were chosen to be performed by the children themselves, or by members of the VOICES Chorale. In addition, members of the VOICES Chorale will perform some selected pieces sure to delight the children, their parents and their friends.

Come and hear some of the world's newest talent!
