| VOICES was founded in 1987 to provide outstanding
performances of new and classical music and to interest children in composing
and singing. VOICES Chorale, an auditioned chorus with members from New Jersey
and Pennsylvania, was founded in 1992 to provide outstanding performance
opportunities for community singers. (See A Short
History of VOICES.) The Chorale performs an unusually varied repertoire,
including choral masterworks and premieres by American composers. VOICES
performs six to eight formal concerts and
several outreach concerts each year in Mercer
County, New Jersey and Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The group also occasionally
performs in New York City and has toured internationally. Our current
membership is over 60 singers, including a 28 member chamber ensemble called
Sotto Voce. We usually rehearse Monday nights from 7:30-9:45 pm at
Timberlane Middle School in Pennington NJ
and other locations which are a short drive from Princeton, Trenton or Bucks
